Come Be Part of the Spirit of Northwestern!

Northwestern State University Bands invites middle and high school performers and SON alumni to join current members of the Spirit of Northwestern for a special day of music, fellowship, and tradition surrounding the NSU vs. Southeastern Louisiana University football game.

Three generations of performers. One field. One Spirit of Northwestern.

Whether you’re a student considering Northwestern State or a former SON member returning to where your musical journey began, this is an opportunity to perform, reconnect, make new memories, and experience the tradition of Northwestern State Bands.

For Middle & High School Performers

Young Performers Day is open to students in all performance areas, including:

• Woodwind, brass, and percussion
• Drum majors
• Color guard
• Dance line
• Baton twirlers

Students will perform alongside the Spirit of Northwestern and the SON Alumni Band and have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be part of the NSU Band family.

Calling All SON Alumni!

The band never really ends.

The SON Alumni Band is being organized to bring Northwestern State Bands alumni back together for a special performance during the September 26 football game.

Whether you graduated last year or decades ago, we want you back! Pick up your instrument, reconnect with your fellow Demons, and experience once again the camaraderie, tradition, and Spirit of Northwestern that made your time in the band special.

This registration will also help us reconnect with our alumni, update contact information, and identify those interested in participating in future SON Alumni Band events.

One Registration. One Experience. One Spirit.

The $40 registration fee is the same for both Young Performers and SON Alumni and includes:

• Event T-shirt
• Lunch
• Participation in the performance experience
• Admission to the NSU football game

Registration deadline: September 19, 2026

Music, flag and dance routines, and parking information will be emailed to participants following registration.
